Research in step

Starting point

Research coordination spread across participant records, consent documents, study visits, and ongoing tasks.

What we built

A shared application connecting participant onboarding, consent records, study visits, and coordinator activity.

Who uses it

Study coordinators, research teams, and authorized participants.

Our role

Workflow design, application development, and delivery.

A clinical research team needed to keep participant onboarding, consent records, study visits, and coordinator tasks connected as participation grew. Node59 built a shared application that carries those activities through one traceable workflow. Research staff can see the state of each participant's progress, the documents behind it, and the person responsible for the next action, with background processing keeping reminders and routine updates moving alongside daily work.

One path into a study

Participant intake follows a structured path into the study. Coordinators can see which stages are complete, what information is outstanding, and who is responsible for the next action. Access follows the responsibilities of participants and staff, keeping each person's work connected to the relevant record. The same process carries forward as participation grows, preserving the history needed to understand where a participant stands.

Documents with context

Consent records and supporting documents stay attached to the relevant participant and study. Coordinators can inspect the current state, ownership, and review history in the same place. Permissions control who can access the information, and review and approval remain with the responsible staff. When a document needs another look or moves between team members, the record retains the context and decisions that brought it there.

Keeping the next step visible

Upcoming visits, outstanding tasks, and assigned responsibilities appear in one working view. Coordinators can return to the relevant visit and participant record to understand what needs to happen next. Background tasks process reminders and updates without making the interface wait for each operation to finish. Routine coordination remains connected to the study as activity increases, keeping the next action and its owner visible.

Coordination without losing the trail

The application gives research staff one connected process for participants, documents, and study activity. Teams can follow onboarding, review consent records, and coordinate visits while retaining the history behind each step. Node59 built the workflow around a growing participant community, with responsibilities and recorded activity carried through the application. Staff have a dependable view of the work and a traceable path through the decisions behind it.

From idea to architecture

Permissions by role, background reminders, and structured participant records connect study workflows with a traceable history of activity.

Scoped access

Permissions organize access around the responsibilities of participants, coordinators, and administrators.

Workflow processing

Background tasks process scheduled reminders and coordinated updates while the working interface remains responsive.

Traceable records

Structured documents, review states, and recorded activity preserve the context behind each participant and study record.
